KANSAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 5
Paid for by Carrie Barth for Kansas, Laura Dorsey, Treasurer
Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Hi! I'm glad you stopped by to get to know me. I am a mom of two and I have been married for 23 years.
I am not afraid to stand up and fight for our God-given freedoms, and I have done so at the local, county, state, and even the federal government level. The last several years little by little government has threatened our Constitutional rights over and over again and I am running to be re-elected for office as a Republican serving District 5.

My areas of focus are lower taxes, protecting private property rights that are being threatened by big industry subsidized by our tax dollars, reliable and affordable energy, healthcare, making it easier to do business in Kansas, education that is focused on education, and community safety.
For the last two years, I have served on the following House Committees:
Health & Human Services
Social Services Budget
Local Government

In 2022 I wrote the bill HB2350 to stop Human Smuggling in KS that became law July 2022 with the help of Rep. from Ottawa, KS, the legislature, and those who testified. The law has been used successfully, including saving a 10 year girl who was being smuggled on I-35, thanks to our Kansas Highway Patrol.

Being an advocate to stop Human smuggling that often leads into sex trafficking, drug trafficking, and labor trafficking (slavery) has lead me to be appointed to serve on the Kansas Human Trafficking Advisory Board by our Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach.

In November of 2023, our Kansas Human Smuggling Bill became model legislation for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) that was approved unanimously for other states to use as model policy.

Also, in 2022, I was appointed by the Kansas Speaker of the House, to serve on the Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns.

I have been a leader in the business world of HR Technology and Benefits for over 20 years helping hundreds of businesses of all sizes and industries with everything from recruitment to retirement and everything in between. My expertise is in quality healthcare with better health outcomes, lower costs for the employer, the employee and their family, and an overall better experience.

District 5 is an awesome district, as I have lived in Paola, Wellsville, and Baldwin since I was born.

I am super excited for the opportunity to continue to represent District 5 and Kansans!

I appreciate your support in the upcoming 2024 election.

In Liberty,
Carrie
